Roundtable Staff Duties

ROUNDTABLE STAFF JOB DESCRIPTION (CUB SCOUTS & BOY SCOUTS)

Report to the roundtable commissioner.
Assist with monthly roundtable meetings.
Assist with developing regular roundtable plans.
Participate in the annual council roundtable planning conference.
Meet with the roundtable commissioner to review the council's master roundtable plan and adapt to the district plans.
Lead a monthly roundtable breakout session.
Use national aids: Boy Scout, Varsity Scout, Venturer, or Cub Scout Roundtable Planning Guide, Roundtable Planning Sheets, Scouting magazine, Program Helps, Boy's Life, etc.
Determine what contributions can be made by resource people, and arrange for their participation.
Recruit roundtable staff, as needed, to handle program elements, projects, physical arrangements, hosting, and participation.
Coach the unit leaders.
Involve unit adults in training and roundtables.
Use the Boy Scout, Cub Scout, Varsity Scout, or Venturer Roundtable Planning Guide.
Complete assigned projects in a timely fashion
Secure help from commissioner staff.
Report on roundtable plans regularly at each district commissioner staff meeting.(when roundtable commissioner is not present)
Promote roundtable attendance.
Obtain the unit commissioner's help in bringing new leaders to roundtables.
Follow up on units not participating as assigned by roundtable commissioner
At least twice a year appraise the effectiveness of roundtables.
Seek suggestions from unit leaders and relay on to roundtable commissioner.
