·“Peer-to-peer” and “Bring-a-Buddy” campaigns are very effective methods to recruit new Scouts by utilizing a Scouting Unit’s greatest strength.
èHaving excited and enthusiastic youth members who have large friendship networks.
  • Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, and Venturing Scouts may earn the BSA Recruiter badge by recruiting other youth to join a Scout Unit.
·Quite a few Scout Units in the other Districts hold a contest for their Scouts to recruit a friend, relative, classmate, or other acquaintance to join their Unit.
èPrizes are typically given out for the top three (3) recruiters but all Scouts who recruit one or more youth into their Scout Unit are awarded the BSA Recruiter badge.
The Membership Committee strongly suggests that kick off a contest like this at your next Unit meeting. You will be amazed at how well it works.
